Three Routes Into Japan
Japan is phasing out the decades-old Technical Intern Training Programme (TITP) and replacing it with Ikusei Shuro (育成就労) from April 2027. The last TITP cohort completes Stage 2 by April 2026. We guide candidates onto the new pathway, which is built to feed directly into the SSW visa.
Specified Skilled Worker
Full working status for candidates who pass a sector skills test and Japanese-language exam. Salaries are set equal to or above a Japanese national in the same role.
Skill-Development Training
From April 2027, the new Ikusei Shuro programme replaces the old TITP internship — an entry route designed to graduate workers directly into SSW Type 1.
Student Visa
Study long-term at a language school, college or university while working part-time — a popular bridge into an SSW or work visa after graduation.
